Stephenie Meyer- You Deserve a Month Away on Isle Esme!
I was fortunate enough to be able to meet Stephenie Meyer recently. Can I just tell you I left that meeting on cloud nine. It’s not often that you put someone up on a pedestal and they are able to stay there. Stephenie Meyer is an amazing person, she is funny and down to earth and on the top of my list. I’ve never laughed as hard as I did while talking with her. (I nearly sprayed cranberry juice all over her because I was caught off gaurd by a burst of laughter) Although I may never have an opportunity to meet with her again I will never forget the absolutely amazing morning I was able to spend with her.
Stephenie’s books have brought so much joy to my life. Because of the Twilight Series I have made some of the best friends. Friends I can laugh with and cry with and who bring so much to my life. After finishing the books last November I was motivated to lose the 20 lbs. I never took off after having 5 babies. I could go on for a long time about the wonderful things The Twilight Saga has brought into my life.
Stephenie Meyer you are amazing! Thank you for writing Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn and The Host. You are my favorite author and I doubt anything can ever top the fun I have had in the last 9 months!

Now it’s your turn to Share the Love! We’ll either compile your messages and send them on or forward on the link to this post to Stephenie so she can read it if she chooses.

I would like to join inspired by in thanking Stephenie Meyer for Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse Breaking Dawn, the Host (Midnight Sun, extras, and outtakes). Thank you, Stephenie, for changing my life with a book. I have never before given myself over to a work of fiction so thoroughly. You have created a masterpiece that enthralls, inspires and enlightens simultaneously. Thank you Steph for teaching me:
“You are worth it” (Jasper, Twilight p. 404)
“…just because we’ve been…dealt a certain hand…it doesn’t mean that we can’t choose to rise above –” (Edward, Twilight p. 3070
“I just had to decide what to do with what I was given.” (Carlisle, NM p. 35)
And so much more!
I, too, had the AMAZING opportunity to meet Stephenie and agree with inspiredby that she is truly amazing, funny, and down to earth. Because of the Twilight Series I have also gotten the opportunity to meet so many amazing TwilightMoms.
Thanks for everything Stephenie, you truly do deserve some time on Isle Esme.

From the moment I read Twilight I couldn’t stop mentioning how Stephenie Meyer is a genius. She is so inspiring and I love that she is so grounded and so real. I meant to tell her Thank You at the BD signing this week and I never had the chance (i was a bit nervous to meet her). So I will say it here…. THANK YOU STEPHENIE MEYER!!!
For all that you do, for taking time from your family to meet and greet us, and for sharing your great stories.
It is pretty amazing how much my life has changed since I became a fan and having said that I also want to thank TwilightMoms for introducing me to all my new absolutely fabulous Friends!
August 9th, 2008 at 6:29 pm
Stephenie,
I was directed to your wonderful stories by a few Junior Girl Scouts in my town. “If you loved Harry Potter, you HAVE to read Twilight! Trust us, you won’t regret it!” Truer words haven’t been spoken!
Those 2 thirteen year olds were so right! I have adored your books and devoured each one in record time. Each book took me on a journey with your wonderful characters that has been unparallelled in my life. I always thought myself to be a huge HP fan, but there is NO comparison when it comes to Twilight!
Thanks to your wonderful novels (all the way from Twilight through Breaking Dawn, which I absolutely adored, and The Host), I have become a part of a great online community (TwilightMoms) and have met some of the greatest women I have ever had the privilege to know. Some I have met in person, some I only know through phone conversations and the internet, but they are all dear to my heart. And I would never have met them if it weren’t for you.
I truly hope that at some point, I might have the chance to meet you in person, shake your hand and be able to tell you in person how much I have enjoyed reading your novels. Each one is so detailed and enthralling - I feel as if I have been to Forks & LaPush myself, that I would recognize Eric, Tyler, Jessica, Angela & Ben, as well as the wonderful Cullens & our erstwhile heroine, Bella, if I were to enter the cafeteria at Forks High School. NO other book has made quite so strong an impression on me.
I also truly admire your poise and your strength. I can’t possibly imagine how difficult the recent weeks have been for you, but I want you to know that there are far more of us who truly love your writing than not. We may not be as loud as the detractors, but we will ALWAYS be here behind you, supporting you, and defending your works!
I hope that this message, and all of the others I am sure you will be receiving through this blog, offer you some comfort in the knowledge that you are loved, respected, and revered amongst your fans. I look forward to reading more from you in the near future!
With love, Judi in Massachusetts

I read my first Stephenie Meyer book just a month ago at the recommendation of my son. In that month I have read and reread all the Stephenie Meyer books currently available, and love them all. Breaking Dawn for me, was the perfect ending. I am eagerly awaiting Midnight Sun and anything else Ms. Meyer writes in the future. Thank you for the great books. I would love to read Seth’s story some day :>
August 9th, 2008 at 6:49 pm
SM I loved all of the books you have wrote. You are my favorite author and I think you are awesome. Even if I didn’t like BD you would still be my fav. Boy I am so jealous I would love to meet SM. These books have touched me so much and have also helped bring me closer to my beautiful teenage step daughter. Keep up the good work SM you are a literary Jesus.
August 9th, 2008 at 6:52 pm
Ditto inspired! We love you Stephenie and appreciate your hard work and imagination. My friends and I look forward to everything you have to bring to us in the future-just please, please, please keep writing!
August 9th, 2008 at 6:56 pm
Inspiredbytwilight I just want to say thanks to YOU for keeping TM going this week and for standing up for our beloved Queen Mother, Stephenie Meyer.
I was not sure what to expect from BD and must say I could not have asked for a better ending for the characters I have come to know and love. A great big thank you to Stephenie for sharing her awesome stories with us. I cannot wait to see what is next on her agenda! **love, hugs**
August 9th, 2008 at 7:20 pm
Stephenie, I love you!!! Please don’t let the negative people get you down. There are plenty of us who appreciate everything that you do. Thank you so much for sharing your worlds with us-both with the Twilight Series and The Host. I can’t tell you how much your writing has meant to me.
August 9th, 2008 at 7:32 pm
Stephenie-
*in my best Napoleon Dynamite voice* I hope you liked the “delicious bass” I gave you in LA…
You are worthy of so much more than anything I or anyone else could offer. We all just wish there was some way to convey how much it means to each of us individually that you had the courage to share the worlds of your imagination that bring so much passion into our lives. Your courage has had an infectious affect and has changed lives everywhere. Women everywhere are now taking the chance and putting themselves out there. They’re meeting fears head on, using talents that had been gathering dust on the shelf. They’re remembering who they are and why they are.
You may feel like that it sounds strange or silly because you’re “just an average person” but it is through your “averageness” that your amazing fabulousness shines so brilliantly. Your stories remind us of the greatness and power within the “average”.
So, thank you for working so hard, traveling so much, and most of all for being true to yourself.
August 9th, 2008 at 7:53 pm
Stephenie,
You don’t know me from Adam, but I wanted to let you know that I think you are teriffic. I thought Breaking Dawn was wonderful. It was not my favorite of the series, but I truly enjoyed it. As with all of your books I have to read them more than once to really appreciate them and fully understand them. I’m so glad you had “the dream” and wrote this series. As a 32 year old mother of three, it has literally changed my life. Thank you!
August 9th, 2008 at 7:56 pm
I also feel the same way as Lisa. I am the same age as Stephanie and would never have the courage to do what she has done. This is her world, as she sees it, hears it. I’m just glad that she has let us in. What a shame if she would have kept this series of books to herself. I had heard of the book Twilight last summer, got on her website soon after that. There wasn’t much there and then I kind of forgot about it. In April I was needing a book to read and went to the library to get it and it wasn’t available. I put it on hold. I was out of town for 5 days when it became available and wasn’t able to pick it up. Then again, forgot about it. The day I was leaving for vacation in June I was in Target and thought I should get a book to read when I was done reading mine for my book club. I saw Twilight and thought I may as well get it. It’s only $8. I brought it to the beach house with me and was actually using it for a mouse pad for my lap top(embarrassed). My cousin said-Have you read that? I confessed I didn’t but was planning to sometime during my month long trip. I didn’t pick it up until I had made it to my second destination, just visiting family for 3 weeks and hanging out. One night I thought I will just start reading. I read Twilight in two days. I just couldn’t stop. That day I went straight to the store and got New Moon. Same thing, two days. Went straight to the store for Eclipse. Again 2 1/2 days. In one week, I had read all three books. I loved them!! I have never read that fast, that much in my 35 years. When I got home from vacation, I thought I should re-read them since I read so fast. Loved them even more. I am now on my second time with breaking dawn. I was done in 16 1/2 hours. Yes, there were some parts that took me by suprise, but I got used to it. This is a fantasy, fiction, something for entertainment to read not a school book-history lesson.
Stephanie, I will continue to buy and read your books. Since the first two of mine are not hard back I am looking forward to be able to get those in Hard back to add to my collection.
Now I will start The Host. Can’t wait!
**Sorry this was so long**
August 9th, 2008 at 7:59 pm
I just want to say thank you for gifting us a story so wonderful. The Twilight series along with The Host.
Reading your books including allows this married mom of 3 ages 18, 16 & 10 time for that precious ‘me’ time.
When I escape into your worlds I feel great!
Thanks again and just please keep writing and allowing us to go there with you!
August 9th, 2008 at 8:04 pm
I’ve tried a few times to write something profound in this small space. I’ve typed… written… deleted…
But there’s really only 1 thing I want to say to the truly wonderful Stephanie…
Thank you.
Thank you so much for allowing me - a person who more than likely you will never meet, speak to, or probably ever think about - to be a part of something so super special. Something that I know was personal to you, you shared with me and I want to thank you. Thank you for allowing me to love Edward, Bella, Jacob, and everyone you have created as much as you have.
Thank you.
August 9th, 2008 at 8:45 pm
Stephenie,
I am in awe of all that you give to your fans, over and above the books we love and adore. You’re not just an author, but a mom and a wife, a daughter and a sister, and a plain regular gal, like the rest of us. Except you made your wildest of dreams come true–you didn’t wimp out or give up or choose to believe it wouldn’t matter if you saw your dream through to the end. What you have done is truly inspiring.
I look eagerly forward to reading what comes next out of your imagination. And I know I’ll feel like I’m right there in the story, going through every emotion and changing and growing along with your characters. Thank you for that.
Blessings,
Kelly in VA

Stephanie,
Thank you for sharing your books with us. I have truly enjoyed reading your books. With raising 4 kids I forgot how much I enjoy reading so thank you for reminding me how much joy a book can bring! You have also allowed me some very precious and special memories I will always cherish with my daughters! My girls are ages 18 and 16 and they loved the Twilight saga as well. We had many late nights sitting up having “spirited” conversations about our different opinions and thoughts on your books. They let me “tag along” with them and their friends to the late night release party. I forgot how loud a group of teenage girls can be(I don’t have to tell you!). Thank you for giving us Edward, Bella, Jacob, and the Cullen family. Also, thank you for giving me and my daughters great conversation starters and special memories!
Sincerely,
Karla

Stephenie,
Can I just give a big fat DITTO to Lisa, and all of the others that have already posted?
I know you hear this all of the time, but I’m going to say it again, Thank You. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of these amazing character’s lives and stories. Thank you for letting us into your life, for sharing them with us. For having the courage to take “just a dream” and turn it into something far more incredible.
It’s amazing to me just how much these books have positively affected my life, and just how much they mean to me. And how much YOU mean to us all, and that no matter what, we wil ALWAYS support you, and watch your back. Us AZ girls have to stick together ;).
I hope someday to get even 30 seconds with you, to shake your hand, and to just say Thank You in person, even though those words seem so small for just how much I love the books and the characters who feel like family.
You are brilliant. You inspire so many people. It’s so neat to see someone so talented be so down to earth, and funny, and relateable!
Thank you again, Stephenie. You for SURE deserve time away on Isle Esme. You deserve far more than I could ever write into words (obviously considering I’m fumbling with my words LOL).
Lots of love

I love all your books. To me, Breaking Dawn was the Crown Jewel for the Twilight series. Thank you so much for writing something that my adult daughters and I could read together. We have had so much fun going to different events this last year.
Don’t get discouraged with the negativity out there. There are so many of us who love Breaking Dawn. I look forward to anything else that you write. I’m a fan for life!! Thank You for sharing your amazing talent with all of us.
xoxoxo
August 9th, 2008 at 9:05 pm
There is only one book that I have ever gone back to read more than once before the Twilight Saga entered my life. I can’t even describe how my heart was affected by your writing. I have read Twilight, New Moon, & Eclipse all the way through numerous times and before Breaking Dawn came out I would just read a few chatpers here and there out of all three. I am re-reading Breaking Dawn right now for the 2nd time. I have also read the Host and plan to re-read that after I finish Breaking Dawn. Your books are amazing and wonderful and I will try to be patient while we wait for more. I really hope you can take some time this year to enjoy your family and rest. You definitely deserve it.
August 9th, 2008 at 9:07 pm
I LOVE your books! The Twilight saga is AMAZING! There’s no other way to say it!
I discovered the books 3 weeks ago while at Borders. I saw the poster in the window for the midnight release party of Breaking Dawn. I figured if they were having a midnight party for the new book then the first three books must be worth reading. I bought Twilight and could not put it down. I ran back a couple of days later to buy New Moon and Eclipse. And several days after that I was 8th in line to get Breaking Dawn at the midnight party! (Needless to say, my husband wasn’t exactly excited about being ignored for almost a sold 2 weeks)
I now can not stop thinking about the books. I feel changed, and I have a need to do or be something other than what I am now. I’m not sure what that is or even what that really means… I just know that in my core I feel… changed, different.
Thank you. Thank you so much for the books! You’re great!

First of all let me say to Twilight MOMs THANK YOU!!
Not only for being a teriffic website for a slightly older crowd, but also for standing up and letting SM know how truly genuis she is. After I read BD I waited for any news about the newest addition to the twilight series. Then my stupid internet went down for a little over a week. I finally got it back today and I started searching for news. They first thing I saw was a brief video clip and and interview on MTV about all the haters. SM was defending herself and saying that no matter what she wrote someone would not be happy! I was
horrified! I started doing more searching and
reading forum and sure enough there was so much
negativity over the book. I immediatly thought how
sad. This women has put herself out there sharing
her stories with us (and I can’t imagine that is
an easy thing to do) and she get bad mouthed and
critized for it. I wanted to counter some of the
negativity and let her know so many of thought she
was brilliant! and I thought I’ll try TM see what
they are saying and you guys didn’t let me down.
So my message to SM is this. Thank You for sharing
your stories with us, I only started reading the
books around a month ago, and from the moment I
picked the first one up I was enthralled. You are
truly genuis. Not only are your books amazing but
honestly so are you. I love watching or reading any
interview with you. You are so interesting and so
much of who you seem to be is there in your books.
Your stories are filled with hope and light and
love, and BD was a testimate to that.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!
P.S. Since I read the first book I have gotten about
10 people to read it so far, they are all equally
as hooked as I am, and They loved BD!!!!!

RE: READ…REACH…REJOICE!
Steph,
I was grateful for the opportunity to attend the Chicago BD singing [as well as Comic Con & the Host/MOA]. Amidst a sea of bloodthirsty fans, you maintain such grace and at the same time are so down to earth. I love your wit, sense of humor and how it comes though in your writing. Writing that compels you to read more. Writing that doesn’t just make you see…but makes you feel. Writing that inspires you to reach out to others. And writing that stirs you into action…which has led me to meet some of the most amazing women [You know who you are] and a lot of rejoicing.
Until I opened the pages of Twilight in January, the last work of fiction I read was in 2003! The Twilight Saga got me reading again.
It is no small thing for an author to be responsible for bringing so many devoted fans together in such a way.
Hugs and Thank you!
August 9th, 2008 at 9:14 pm
Thank you, Stephenie for sharing your wonderful story with us! I love your characters, I LOVE Breaking Dawn–it fulfilled all my hopes for Bella and the Cullens. You are amazing!
August 9th, 2008 at 9:18 pm
Stephenie, you’re an inspiration, all around. You’ve inspired countless thousands (millions?!) of young people to read. You’re also open with your own inspirations from the classics. Just imagine how many of the young people who read your books will go on to read the books which have inspired you, just to see what’s so good about them, or to figure out the connections. That’s no small thing. Thanks for writing the books you wanted to write–they’ve been so much fun to read, and they inspire me as a writer.
August 9th, 2008 at 9:20 pm
Thank you Stephanie!
I read Twilight on a recommendation from someone I didn’t know and it was the best decision I ever made. Not only have the books entertained me; they renewed my love of reading. But then I read your bio and came across all those wonderful words of encouragement to amaetur writers. I never thought of myself as a writer. I only had stories floating in my head. I never thought of writing for myself. I have found a new hobby that I get much enjoyment from. These words are not meant to be profound. Obviously. And I can’t spell to save my life. But I wanted you to know that you are heaven sent and your talents are a blessing to me and the millions that love your books. Thanks and please keep writing. I can’t wait to read your next books.
August 9th, 2008 at 9:23 pm
I have to admit that I feel just a teensy bit intimidated to write my thank you after reading the eloquent words written by the amazing Twilight Moms above. With that being said, I try my best in my day-to-day life to remember to say thank you. Whether it’s something huge that someone does for me or something small, it’s amazing what an impact those two simple words can have. And so, Stephenie Meyer, to you I say thank you. Thank you for writing a series of books that have impacted my life in a way that I cannot describe in words. Thank you for staying true to yourself. I know that you’ve said that you wrote these books for you. That your characters told you what to write. Thank you for sticking to your guns, even though you knew not everyone would be happy. Thank you for inspiring so many other women/wives/mothers like myself. I have found a wonderful community here on Twilight Moms that would not be possible, if not for you. It is my “happy place.”
I look forward to reading all of your future works. I think that you have been given the wonderful gift that is story-telling. I hope that you continue to use it and share it with us for many, many years to come. I know that I will be waiting, ready to devour whatever you put out. Stay strong, and know that we love you!
And again, thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
August 9th, 2008 at 9:31 pm
Stephenie Meyer has been such an inspiration to me. I’m a mom of two boys who has finally submitted to the fact that I’m supposed to be writing, which has brought amazing joy to my life. The only breaks I’ve taken from writing in the past year have been to read one of Stephenie’s books!
The JOY that was in my heart multiplied when I found the Twilight series and learned that it was written by a MOM, like me. A mom who was so willing to share her gifts and her processes through her website and interviews. I appreciate the risks she takes by being real and vulnerable, and I pray that all this junk doesn’t discourage her from remaining that way.
So, Stephenie Meyer, thank you for being brave, thank you for your giving spirit, thank you for entertaining and delighting us. Thank you for introducing so many young girls to Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy, Heathcliff and Catherine - because you know they picked those books up after reading about them in your works.
And, press on toward the goal, sister! You have a whole bunch of us behind you. And as they say, the hand that rocks the cradle…
By the way, when I see people in the book section at Target I tell people they should read the series. I think the funniest person I sold to was a forty year old man. He left with the first two books.
August 9th, 2008 at 9:47 pm
STEPHENIE,
Your series has flipped on a switch inside of my heart, and ever since my first reading of ‘Twilight,’ I find myself feeling every emotion more deeply. It’s like I’m seventeen again, but in a GOOD way!
Since then I’ve “bitten” at least ten friends, like the poster above, and they are all equally absorbed in the Twilight Universe! Your penchant for romance with the element of danger is sheer genious and we’ll all be returning to your books again and again for more. ‘Breaking Dawn’ surprised me in wonderful ways, and ways that I was not expecting. I’m re-reading it now after having watched your Entertainment Weekly interview, and it’s a *totally* different experience with your insights infused into it. Your finale was a HOME RUN, it made me sob!
I think you’re a doll, so likeable, so intelligent and funny as can be.
Thanks for creating a place for so many of us to escape to, discuss, cherish and simply enjoy. I gave you a little dream journal at the Portland book signing in May, and I hope that it will be useful for future nighttime inspirations! You most certainly have a life-long fan in me.
August 9th, 2008 at 9:54 pm
I would like to confirm what seems to be the ultimate message here…
there are so many people who are touched by this series and the characters you (Stephenie) have created. I have become closer with my 11 year old daughter, 2 adult sisters and several random friends because of this series.
Thank you for opening up your wonderful imagination with all the readers and allowing us to be a part of this incredible journey!!
August 9th, 2008 at 9:59 pm
I also wanted to say I’m so sorry for all the negativity Stephenie. You are an inspiration to so many and I can’t even image the hardship all of the press has to be on you and your family.
Thank you for being such a great example as an LDS woman and mother. I am also LDS and a mom and have often felt that in our huge world, my voice could never be heard. But you have shown that you can be successful and maintain your standards.
You have also inspired me to write a screenplay that I have wanted to for years, but never had the confidence to do before. I love that you say to write for yourself and enjoy the experience. I am glad you produced the story of Bella and Edward you intended and were comfortable with. It is truly unfortunate that readers are so critical of such a great, enjoyable story.
I wish you the best and I hope you know you are loved and admired. I look forward to reading more of your beautiful, enchanting stories/novels in the future!
Much love and best wishes! Ldee
August 9th, 2008 at 10:01 pm
Thank you so much Stephenie for these beautiful, wonderful, heartfelt, entertaining books. They have changed my life in a good way. I hope you realize how much your books have impacted so many peoples lives for the better. You truly are an inspiration. And you deserve only good things in your life.
Please don’t let all the negativity get you down. I have found that the “negative nellies” always tend to scream the loudest. It doesn’t mean their vitriolic thoughts, are the thoughts of the majority of your fans.
We love you. Enjoy your getaway on Isle Esme.
August 9th, 2008 at 10:15 pm
Stephenie, you are an amzing writer who has inspired so many! I teach fifth grade, and one of my students gave me “Twilight” last year. I immidiately became addicted, and I used excerpts from your books to teach my students “voice” and wonderful, visual, emotional writing. Towards the end of the year, I began reading the first chapters of “Twilight” to my gifted class. They could not get enough and would beg me to read to them rather than go outside to enjoy their precious few remaining days of recess. Their love that grew out of my obvious love for your books sparked a summer book club where we meet in various homes once a week. We were going to take it a few chapters at a time, but the kids read all three books (some all 4, already), so we’re moving even faster! Even some of the moms and my outside friends are addicted and are eagerly awaiting the movie.
Your books (all 5 that are currently out) are my favorites. My 16-year-old sister (an aspiring writer, herself) and I have grown closer because of them, and bonds have been created with very special people due to you. I never dreamed I’d be at a midnight release for ANY book- especially not with a group consisting of moms, 16-year-olds, and former students! Now, the group is growing, and we’re all willing to be a little tired at school one day if it means we can go to a midnight showing of “Twilight” together.
I would never have thought I’d care about anything with vampires and werewovles, but I thank you for opening up a new and fantastic world to me as well as creating a love of reading for students who never would have thought of picking up a book during the summer!
August 9th, 2008 at 10:31 pm
Steph
What can I say??? I basically adore you. I barely know you, but you have somehow managed to change everything in my life.
This week I went to LA and was able to meet some of the AMAZING women that are only in my life because of you. These memories are at the very top of my BEST MOMENTS EVER list, and I expect I will be friends with these women for the rest of my life.
On Friday my husband and I (He came to LA with me
) saw Wicked… And there is part when they sing at the end… I was SOBBING. The lyrics were this:
Because I knew you I have been changed for good.
All I could think of was all the wonderful women I have met this last year, and how much my life has changed… and how because of all this I am a changed person.
Now, like I said, I don’t know you very well… just a little
But it is because of you that all these wonderful things have happened in my life.
Thank you so much for sharing your dream, and your stories. Thank you for inspiring me to do better.
xoxo

Ahhh! Queen Steph! What can I say? My life took a turn for the awesome last fall when I found Twilight. Your story put me in touch with feelings that I had forgotten existed! I have loved the entire journey–Twilight (and movie), New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn, The Host–everything you have written is pure magic. Thank you for telling your stories the way you want them to be! Even when Breaking Dawn wasn’t what I had expected (and it was still awesome), I had much respect for your integrity and knew that you were telling the story as it was meant to be. I can’t wait to read it again, slowly, and soak it all in. I am in continuous awe of your creativity and imagination! **on knees bowing deeply**
I recently had the privilege of attending the San Diego Host signing and the Breaking Dawn Concert in Los Angeles. I think I love your humor the best! You are so beautiful, poised, and elegant and really down-to-earth. We would never know that you have any touch of nerves at all when you are with your fans! The concert with Justin was stellar! Wow. That Q&A + rock star + signing was pure magic! Well done!
Thank you, thank you, thank you for being you and staying true to who you are. Thank you for the sacrifices you’ve made to tour to so many different locations. You deserve some serious pampering and personal time! Enjoy your family and have some really great naps too!
I can’t wait for your next project! We’ll be cheering you on all the way!
August 9th, 2008 at 10:42 pm
Stephenie,
Thank you for the beautiful world(s) you have shared with me. I’ve marveled in the meadow seeing Edward sparkle for the first time, I’ve cried with Bella lying on the forest floor, I’ve basked in the humerous warmth of Jacob, I’ve trembled with every kiss, I’ve shopped with Alice, I’ve been loved by Ensme, I choked up with Charlie at the wedding, I’ve wondered at the creation of Nessie, I’ve feared the wrath of the Volturi..I’ve run from the Seekers, missed Walter, have been mad at Jared and so grateful for Ian…and so much more and I’ve done it because of you!
In a very literal action I slid down an icy free falling waterfall into the intensly cold water below and thought “Huh, I wonder if this is how Bella felt when she jumped off the cliff” in the moments prior to and following MY swim to shore. You’ve touched a LOT of us this way. Thanks for that. You rock, and I’m anxious to see what else you’re going to share.

I feel as if a large amount of the negative comments are made by an extremely vocal minority. I do agree with one reviewer that said this last book is one that younger teens just could not relate to due to their lack of experience.
I am not a mother, but I am in my late 20s. Both my sister and I read and heard about the spoilers prior to the release of the last novel. Regardless, we loved it. I could not have been happier with the way Stephenie tied up many loose ends and gave everyone a happy ending. I was relieved to finally see Edward at ease and Bella become a stronger character.
I’m a sucker for happy endings. During tumultuous times like these, we needed a morale boost. I felt that Breaking Dawn provided that. It was a very good happy ending and gave me a moment of peace in the unstable world we are living in. I was only sad to see the end of Bella’s narrative.
So Stephenie, thank you for sharing your world with us. You have more supportive fans than you know…
August 9th, 2008 at 11:03 pm
Along with eberyone else here, I want to thank you. For your wonderful books and the characters that I have come to love.
But also for something else. I want to thank you for helping me find a part of myself that I had forgotten was there for a very long time. As a mom of 3 fantastic kids, ages 7, 4 and 1, I have spent the past 8 or so years being “the Mom”. Somewhere in there I lost who I was before I had kids. In the practicalities of everyday mom life I forgot to enjoy the things just I enjoy, without kids, even maybe without my husband.
Reading your books has reminded me what makes me me. And it has made me a better Mom, a better wife. My husband married the before-kid me, not the post-kid me after all!
Your books got me reading again, something I LOVE and had put aside for a long time. Your playlists have me listening to music again, something I didn’t even know I missed doing!
Funny how a story about vampires and werewolves can inspire a mom to be better, to be her true self, but that is what I have found through reading your books. Thank you so much, you have truly touched my life.

I am very greatful for Stephenie’s creativity, I have read many books but once I was done that was it, I put it on a shelf and forgot about it. When I picked up Twilight, I was addicted, thankfully I got on the band wagon late and as soon as I was done with the first book I got to purchase and read books 2 & 3. I couldn’t get enough, I was on the internet searching for information about Stephenie and anything about the Twilight series, I was obsessed and couldn’t understand why, I never had any book have this much affect on me and I love it. Thank you Stephenie Meyers for you imagination!
August 9th, 2008 at 11:18 pm
I have to agree with most of what I’ve read - the good stuff that is. I realize that I’m not alone in my obsession and that’s at least comforting to me! I have never had such an attachment to a novel and/or series. It’s as if Edward, Bella and everyone else really could exist somewhere in this world. What fun that would be. Thank you Stephenie for sharing this story with us. You’ve brought so much to my life because of my love of these books. I am one of many I know, but I am so ready to start writing about what I love and not being afraid of what anyone else thinks. It really can be just for me. I look forward to reading your novels for years to come!! Take care of yourself so that you’re able to share with us again. And….I’m looking forward to the movie…yes yes yes.

Meyer’s Twilight series is a brilliant love story that appeals to people of all ages–from teenagers to grandparents! I’ve always felt this is due, in large part, to Meyer’s *incredibly* dimensional characters. She has such a wonderful way of making her characters come alive on the page. I, for one, was captured from the first sentence Bella uttered…
For those of us who have read the Twilight series, it’s been an incredible journey watching Bella grow up. Whenever readers become so attached to a series of books, and start to feel as if they really know a character, there is bound to be some disappointment coming to the end. It’s nearly impossible to not have some pre-conceived notions of what should or might happen, and it IS impossible for every reader to have their expectations met.
Like many Breaking Dawn readers have found, my enjoyment of the book has increased exponentially with each reading. I’ve picked up on things I missed the first time, when I rushed to get through the book the night it was released. I was so stunned and taken by surprise (kudos, Stephenie, for not being predictable!), that by the time I got to end, I wasn’t quite sure *what* I was feeling. Shell-shocked, a bit, and also sad that the incredible Twilight ride was over (at least from Bella’s POV). By the second reading, I was nodding my head and going, “Ohhhh! Of course! Now I see…”
What I think is amazing is the amount of discussion this book has garnered. It seems to me the really great books throughout time are those that make people think, that create discussion. Meyer’s book has accomplished that, and I happen to think that’s a positive thing. Well done, Stephenie!
August 10th, 2008 at 2:18 am
What a gift you have given us all Stephenie! I truly believe that every woman should have a copy of this series, and have already started to get them for my friends. There aren’t words to describe what your wonderful stories have done for me, so let me just say…thank you for Jacob! I couldn’t be happier with the way Bella’s story ended, and anticipate where you will take us next. We’ll be here waiting! Thanks again, from the bottom of my heart!
Now, I have to get back to all the laundry that’s been neglected.
August 10th, 2008 at 2:23 am
Reading the Twilight series has been an incredible adventure for me. It’s a kind of journey that, I’m quite positive, I’ll never be able to experience with any other book series in the future. Frankly speaking, it might take me a long time once again to pick up another book now that I’ve finished reading Breaking Dawn. I say “once again” because this is what exactly happened after I’ve finished reading Twilight, and later on after reading Eclipse. The series has that profound an effect on me. In my experience as one voracious reader, I’ve never yet encountered a book or a series of books that have affected me the way the Twilight series has. It’s utterly unexplainable, this effect, not to mention belwildering. All I know is that I’m forever grateful to Stephenie for this experience. So thank you so much, Stephenie! Thank you for having the courage to turn your dream into one of the greatest stories ever.
August 10th, 2008 at 3:23 am
Stephenie,
I’d like to thank you for sharing the Twilight stories with all of us and letting us get to know all the wonderful characters you’ve created. (And The Host, too - loved it!) Like a lot of the women here, I am a voracious reader and your name is in permanent ink at the top of my “Favorite Authors” list:) Your stories have provided not only much-needed escape from the pressures of life and motherhood, and pure enjoyment, but also a bonding experience for myself, my three daughters, and my mother. We have literally spent hours and hours discussing these novels, and my daughters now think I am the coolest mom ever (well, besides you!) because I introduced them to Twilight. Little references to the novels (”Having a ‘Bella moment’, Mommy?” amid giggles from the girls if I trip or something) pepper out everyday conversation.
I know there has been some negativity out there about Breaking Dawn, which is honestly completely beyond me - I love every page, and was thrilled to finally know “what happened next”….to see Bella become as strong outside as she has always been inside….delightfully suprised by and happy to learn about Renesmee…to get one last chance to see inside Jacob’s head….for my needed dose of Edward-y goodness….and yay for happy endings!!! I felt this novel totally completed the series and answered my every burning question beautifully - the icing on the cake. (The last two pages….wow.) Add to the excitement the impending movie(s?), the release parties, looking forward to Midnight Sun, and of course the concert tour - and this has been one fantastic journey you’ve led us on (with the book signing and meeting you for a minute or two in Chicago being the highlight of my and my 3 girls’ summer). This series you created has made me feel all over again what it was like to be an obsessed, giggly, screaming 16-year-old giddy over something special. You are an amazing storyteller, and no author has ever been so good to her fans. I hope that after all the excitement (and, undoubtedly, exhaustion) of this summer, you get to have time with your family, time for yourself, and freedom from deadlines to write and do whatever you please. You turned your life upside down to bring us these amazing novels and characters, and I cannot possibly thank you enough! We love you!
August 10th, 2008 at 4:13 am
Dear, dear Stephenie,
Did you realize, when you set out to tell us your dream, that you would have such a profound impact on so many? Did you know that you would *dazzle* us? Did you understand that your world, your amazing stories, your beloved characters would bring together a group of fans so diverse yet so connected that we would long to join together in some capacity every day to discuss our love for you and your books? You have given us all such a great gift! You not only gave us immeasurable joy, you also provided a basis for us to establish amazing friendships. For that, I truly and humbly thank you.
You remind us all, through your words and actions, of the power of grace, humility, wit and respect. Continue to live and write your dreams without apology, without fear and with the knowledge that there are those among us who will always be your fans.
Much love to you,
Lisa

Steph- Thank you are just two little words, but when I say them to you they grow, just like I have grown since I have read the Twilight Saga. All four books have given me hope, helped me to dream again and I’ve got a life now, I feel young again. I have learned computer stuff I never knew existed, a whole new world has opened up to me. I have made so many wonderful friends and have met many of them too.
Meeting you on 8/1 in NYC was a wonderful experience. You are truly beautiful, inside and out. I can feel how hard you work to please us fans and I thank you for that. On 8/1 you were kind enough to accept a note that I had written for you, it made me feel special(even if you couldn’t read it…LOL)
Steph- Bella reached inside of Edward and helped him to feel alive again, this is what you have done for me. THANK YOU…FOREVER

I am 62 and all my life I have been a compulsive reader and an English major. Even though I love reading I seldom reread books, except maybe Jane Eyre and Watership Down. I have loved rereading your books just amazingly. You make the characters so real I am sure they exist somewhere. Your plots are unpredictable and interesting. The feelings you communicate touch the heart so deeply and the thoughts they bring up resonate so strongly that I am sure they are UNIVERSAL TRUTHS. Your word craft makes sentences that run pleasantly through the mind when I read and reread them. I couldn’t tell you which one of your 5 books is my favorite. I think your books are classics because they have universal appeal. The definition of a classic (book or movie) to me is one that you enjoy as much or more each time you experience it even when you know what is coming next.
By the way, when people feel so strongly, even negatively, it is a good sign. It means the books and characters are real to them. You should probably feel complimented.
Thanks again, I will keep reading any book you ever publish. I love them.
August 10th, 2008 at 6:56 am
I try to say this shortly, but I don’t know can I!
Stephenie,
you have given me so much new meanings to my life.
You, sort of, have given me so much:
I’ve got now new good friends, all over the world.
Music, I have found many new bands and singers which I’ve listen and listen over and over again,
and, the most important,
you have give me dreams and you helped me found those things from myself that I never knew I had. And you some way kicked me to make those dreams true! You know, I’m now (maybe stupid) shiny Volvo owner
I love Twilight saga, you always surprised me in your books, there was always something unexpected! I loved all those four books.
And the Host too.
I hope you continue writing.
I already miss Bella and Edward.. Maybe someday story continue….???
Thank you Stephenie. I’m totally big fan of you, I hope everything good for you and your family.
Forever and forever and forever,
Anna (rosanna)
“There’s nothing like a trail of blood
to find your way back home
I was waiting for my hearse
What came next was so much worse
It took a funeral to make me feel alive
Just open your eyes
Just open your eyes
And see that life is beautiful.”

Twilight has changed my life as well. I simply love the entire saga. Stephenie Myer is an amazing person who has inspired me in so many ways. I have lost 60 pounds since I started reading the Twilight series in January 2008. I traveled 3000 miles to Comic-Con (by myself) to attend the Twilight presentation, and spent the night on the sidewalk with some other Twilight Moms to be one of the first into Hall H the day of the presentation. I did not know any of these ladies ahead of time but they are now special friends that I will never forget. I am happily married with two wonderful daughters and a baby granddaughter. I am also a working mom with a great job and good friends. Even with all that, my trip to San Diego was a thrill that made me feel like a kid again. What an amazing adventure. I have to thank Stephenie and twilightmoms for enabling me to have so much fun and feel great about falling in love with a fictional vampire! I loved Breaking Dawn and I am just completely amazed at how Stephenie tied up all the loose ends and twisted plot lines. I am so happy with the ending to the saga. Thank you, Stephenie for bringing your amazing imagination into my life. I will never be the same.
August 10th, 2008 at 7:28 am
Stephenie,
Thank you for the awesome world of Twilight. I first “stole” Twilight from my daughter’s hands two summers ago, she made me give it back and said I would have to wait until she finished and! it was a borrowed book from a friend. I didn’t quite listen to her and read it whenever she put it down. She is a slow reader. So I finished before she did and raced out to buy New Moon. I’m there so Twilight winds up back in my hands. Last summer I read the 7th HP in less than 36 hours squeezing in 2- 8+ hours in our ice cream store and maybe 6 hours of sleep to go to bed at 1AM for a 7 Am out the door Monday. Eclipse came out two weeks later and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it but for some reason I was delayed getting it. I remember picking it up 55 miles away from home on my way to a meeting and reading at all 7 stoplights on the way! I had a lot going on an needed the paycheck so I had to limit my reading for sleep. I read Eclipse in traffic but in all probably within 10 hours. I then began the re-vamping in anticipation for the 4th. I could go on but what I really want to say is thank you for writing a series that got my DDs to read! The oldest read Eclipse in 4 days while on vacation in Italy (on the bus b’twn places)and is almost done with BD. For her a speed record! Stephenie thank you thank you thank you!

I have always been close to my teenage daughter but the Twilight series has created yet another way for us to share something that we both love and enjoy.
My daughter received the novel “Twilight” from my sister who stumbled across it on a bookstore table and thought it was compelling. My daughter dove into it and was hooked. She loved it so much that she suggested it to me. At the time New Moon was just about to be released and she launched into the second novel just as I was reading the first.
All I can say is that I admired Stephenie Meyers’ gift as an author and storyteller from the moment I started reading “Twilight”. Since then I’ve accompanied my daughter to a book signing where we had “Twilight” and “Eclipse” signed by Stephenie Meyer and had an opportunity, amidst easily over 1000 spectators in one book store in downtown Toronto, to hear her speak of her inspiration and she impressed me with her presence and energy.
I have admired many great authors over the years. As a discerning reader who has read widely, I can’t say that I have always loved and agreed with everything they wrote. Stephenie Meyer is no exception but as an author who has put her creative vision out there, she knows to expect that. And I am sure she stands by her vision and what she wrote as she should.
I admire authors above all other artists as they create this little “universes” in their books in which we as readers are allowed to visit and participate for a time. I hope that Stephenie Meyer’s continues to share her universes with us for a long time to come.
August 10th, 2008 at 7:42 am
Steph your books are amazing. I have done lots of reading my entire life and these are the only books I’ve ever wanted to read over and over. These characters you have given to us are so wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing them with us. Yes, you can’t make everyone happy all the time, but your books, including the host and breaking dawn always make me happy. I am off to read breaking dawn again now ~ Amy
August 10th, 2008 at 8:53 am
Dear Stephenie,
I am so happy that TMs is providing this opportunity for us to express our gratitude for all that you have done.
From the first words of Twilight to the last words of Breaking Dawn, you have captivated me and my daughter with a story that will forever remain in our hearts. Your books, as well as the extras and outtakes, have always dazzled. Do you dazzle us? Yes, you do.
My daughter and I had the good fortune to see you at the Nokia in NYC on August 1st. We were both so happy to tell you that you are our favorite author. That day I also met some other Twilight Moms. I had so much fun meeting some of the nicest ladies, who also share my admiration for you. That never would have happened without your love of writing, of seeing a story, so full of magic, published. Please extend my thanks to your older sister, who was so instrumental in seeing that your talents reach us.
On a last note, for now, my daughter and I have always been close, but now we share something more: the love of your books, the music with which you have enriched us, and of course, our love and admiration for you. We adore you. We will pray for you and your loved ones, for your continued health and success and for more of your books. We’re looking forward to all the projects that you are hoping to undertake.
You have done wonderful things! Thank you!
A devoted fan.

Stephenie -
Thank you for your books. They have brought so many people together and I have gained many new friends through the Twilight Saga. You are a wonderful person and a wonderful writer. I love seeing your enthusiasm for your work and your characters. I’ve been to 2 of your book signings and Comic-Con - you always project an air of professionalism and dignity. Thank you for all that you’ve done!!
August 10th, 2008 at 9:41 am
I Have to say that, never have I read a book that captured me as much as The Twilight Series has captured me! Also, I have never read a book, and then re-read it several times! That is saying there is something so very special about Stephanie Meyer and her amazing stories! So Stephanie, since everyone here feels like they are your best friends, we will all tell you as a friend would tell you….take a break, enjoy your family, your children, and some R&R so you can come back well rested and ready to tell us some more amazing stories!
August 10th, 2008 at 9:52 am
Like everyone else, I just want to thank Stephenie. It was amazing being along for the ride with Bella and Edward and the rest, and I can only hope that this isn’t the last of them.
One thing I do know: I always start Stephenie’s books with complete trust that she’ll do what is right for the characters and the stories, and I’m never disappointed. I’m already waiting for whatever’s coming next…and lots more happy endings!
August 10th, 2008 at 10:14 am
*Sigh of pleasure* Edward & Bella’s (Jacob too!)story was everything I hoped, everything I dreamed (even though some things I hoped & dreamed for seemed completely impossible, i.e. a sweet, beautiful baby). I finished Breaking Dawn crying tears of happiness. You gave their story all of the elements, drama, & JOY they deserved. There is a special place in my heart for each of the characters forever.
August 10th, 2008 at 10:26 am
I love books. Books are my friends, and the Twilight series are some of my best buddies. (I’m meeting The Host later this week, I hope things work out for us too
)
Thank you for sharing these stories with us. I often think about how unselfish it is of authors to share their worlds and characters with us. If Edward or Bella or any of the others from Twilight showed up in my dreams, I’d probably want to keep them all for myself
Thanks.
August 10th, 2008 at 10:59 am
I’m in tears after reading all of these amazing comments.
My life has been altered in so many ways because of you and your work. I don’t have much to say that hasn’t already been said but I want to add my thank you to the list. Thank you for these amazing books and thank you for the friends I have made because of it. You have given me some of the best friends I have ever had and for that I owe you a lifetime of servitude.

I began the saga in June. I give copies of Twilight to friends who haven’t read it so they can enjoy your world. I relate to all the characters in different ways. Even though Edward has always been my preferred choice for Bella, I have always liked Jacob. The love triangle was something that I could relate to on a personal level. I’m so glad Bella is able to experience motherhood…that was something I’d worried about. You gave us so many hints in prior books about motherhood and imprinting on young ones…I was surprised by the negative comments on that.
This fantasy rollercoaster has been an awesome ride. I was never disappointed. I was happy, sad, and nervous at times but that’s what good stories are about. While I can certainly appreciate a novel like Atonement and it’s ending, I don’t want every novel I read, to have that kind of melancholy storyline. I loved the fantasy fairytale happy ending with Breaking Dawn. I play chess and totally get the point of the battle of the minds at the end as well as how pawns can be turned to Queens
There are few folks in this world that wouldn’t want the fairytale happy ending for themselves and loved ones.
When I’m at Walmart or our local grocery, I see different folks picking up BD. I stop to say you must read it. The general response is something like - Just checking the price here. I bought it at Barnes and Noble and seeing if I could have paid less. She looked to be 56. Another time, a 30 something was trying to decide if she should use what was left on her B&N gift card to get it there or if the Walmart price would end up being a better deal. How brilliant of you to end this in 1 book. With the economy and people’s general impatience in the world, you were kind to us.
I’ve talked to 3 other folks I know about the book and they loved it. They don’t post on the internet. Think of all those who haven’t read it yet, but will or those who take longer to read due to life’s circumstances. The negative comments are small in comparison to the great concensus. Also, when you’re at the top, people are jealous and want to bring you down a notch…stupid, but human nature for some.
Lastly, thank you for bringing me joy and something to look forward to after my exhausting days. You made me think outside the box and ponder, which is truly a gift to give to someone.
With love,
Lisa (38 from San Antonio)

Thanks for creating this addictive, fun fairy tale. Please ma’am…..can I have some more???
August 10th, 2008 at 12:39 pm
I;m so glad to have this opportunity to thank Stephenie for creating such a wonderful world! I picked up Twilight at a book fair several years ago ,thinking it looked interesting… little did I know how much I would come to adore the Cullens, Bella, Charlie, Renee, Jacob, and the wolf pack
I want to thank you too for keeping the stories so true to your vision. I cannot imagine how you have had to fight for things to be the way you knew they needed to be. I loved Breaking Dawn - loved the whole series - and look forward to any of your future projects. And hang in there - for any one person posting their dislike of something, there are many more of us out here cheering you on!

Stephanie is indeed amazing! Reading her first three books put the energy into my life that I needed to survive the last two months of my husband’s 15-month deployment to Iraq earlier this year. I have never been so greatful to my friend who recommend the books, or to an author, as I am for the Twilight series. I just can’t say enough good things. And since I’m not an amazing author like Setephanie it wouldn’t come out sounding as good as I meant it anyway.
August 10th, 2008 at 12:45 pm
I’m half-way through my third run-through of BD and I’m starting to feel slightly anxious. I know I need to let go. (I keep picturing a police officer saying, “Ma’am, please drop the book…move away from the book” with my family peering around him nervously.) I know if I just pick up another book, like any on the small stack of books I’ve purchased but haven’t read since Twilight came into my life a few months ago, I’ll be able to move on. But I can’t. I’m not ready to let go.
I’ve read a few of the reviews, both from (so-called) fans and from (so-called) professional reviewers. I won’t be reading any more. People simply infuriate me…and I’m just a fan. I can only imagine what Stephenie and her family must be going through. So here’s my review of, my grateful thoughts on, Breaking Dawn:
I was entertained from beginning to end. I loved every minute of it. I will treasure the memory of my daughter and me on the sofa most of the night into the wee hours of Saturday morning taking turns gasping, laughing, and OMGing at each other! Did I hope Bella would get pregnant? With every fiber of my being (even with my daughter patiently explaining how “that could never happen, mom”). Did I believe Bella would become a vampire with a super-power related to her ability to think private thoughts? Absolutely. Was I ever surprised? Yes, totally…at the end of Book 2 when Jacob imprints…on Bella’s daughter! How could I not see that one coming??
So…five stars out of five…two thumbs way up…I highly recommend this book. The resolution to the series was satisfying; most of my questions were answered. (Did Edward sabotage her Chevy?) And finally, I must end with this: Thank you Stephenie Meyer for a beautiful and highly addictive story. The summer of 2008 will always be known in our household as the “Twilight summer” when mom and daughter became slightly obsessed with an impossibly romantic “fast read” about a girl and the perfect love of her existence.

Dear Stephenie ~
I am a relatively new TwilightMom, having only discovered your books back in May. I was curious about Twilight, having heard a little about it - and then I finally bought it for myself on Mother’s Day. By Monday morning, I was done – AND, I was hooked. I quickly followed Twilight up with New Moon and Eclipse, and then started doling them out to my friends – getting them all hooked in the process! (I now have a loaner set of books so I am never without them!)
I am a 39 year-old mother of three boys – my youngest is autistic and I homeschool all three – so as you can imagine, I relish my “down” time. Your books are like comfort food to me (I also loved The Host) and I will continue to read each and every thing you publish!
I just want to thank you for creating such a beautiful and absorbing world. I love all four books in the Twilight Saga, and I thought Breaking Dawn was the perfect way to end Bella and Edward’s story. Though I so hope it’s not truly the end – please take us back to Forks again sometimes soon! You’ve created so many characters for us to love, and we’re eager to learn more about them …
Bless you, Stephenie, for all you have given us. You are a generous soul, a gifted storyteller, and an inspiration to us all!
With Love,
Dawn

InspiredbyTwilight.. thanks for opening up this opportunity for us all to share a little love.
Stephenie:
Hopefully someone will compile all of this and on the days you are feeling a little down, you can flip through here and fill up on the love we all share for what you’ve given us.
First and foremost, I’d like to offer a sincere thank you for your story. To put yourself out there for us, regardless of the backlash, is heroic. The fact that there was a backlash at all is testament to how much your books have touched people. One can’t be passionately disappointed if they weren’t passionate to begin with :-).
I am amongst the passionately pleased with BD. For me, it as just right, but I am enjoying the discussions that have stemmed from the book. Do you realize that you are among the modern writers that have made reading and discussing books popular! That in and of itself is quite the feat!
I look forward to your future books.. Midnight Sun of course, but also other stories that will hopefully flow from your mind to ours.
Again, thank you for your story. May you write and enjoy writing for many, many, many years to come!
-L
PS: Have to also say without the joy of Twilight, I would never have discovered my love for playing with dolls!! haha. Big Jake was thrilled to meet you in Chicago. His world tour is going well.

Stephenie,
I agree with everyone in that my life has been changed for the good by reading these books. I have never in any other book or book series been as obsessively drawn into a story as I have with your books.
Thank you!
I was one of those people who were disappointed after reading BD and I must say that now I have read it a second time and heard your explanations to some of my questions I like it much more than I did the first time. I still have the last 100 pages to go in my second read and even though it isn’t what I expected I still am happy with the ending you gave.
I got to meet Stephenie at the LA signing last week and she was even better than I could have ever imagined. Even after signing hundreds of books and meeting hundreds of people before me she still looked up and smiled and even had to read our shirt.
I know you need and deserve some time off, but please keep writing and publishing your work because I know I’m not the only one to say I will be reading your work as long as it’s out there for me to do so!
P.S. Stephenie if you are reading this I have been kicking myself for not making you one of our PRICELESS shirts and giving it to you at the LA event and am looking for a way to get it to you, so if you or anyone else who may know is reading this and can give me the appropriate info - I would be extremely grateful!!

Stephenie, I am a 43yo mom of 2 teenagers who has been totally and completely smitten with the world of Twilight. I have always been a reader, but never in my life have I continued to re-read books like a have yours. It’s hard to describe how captivating your writing is. You have been blessed with a great gift, and I look forward to many more of your books in the future. As long as you keep writing ‘em, I’ll keep reading ‘em! You’ve made me a fan for life.
August 10th, 2008 at 2:11 pm
Yes, thanks inspiredbytwilight for this great thread! Thank you for your tireless work this week, and the other mods for their hard work, too!
And Stephenie, thank you for all of the good things you are doing! I too was at the LA concert/signing (which was AWESOME); I was one of the women too worried about melting into fangirly-ness to say much to you as you signed my book, so I’m glad to have the chance here.
You are one heck of an amazing storyteller.
And on top of that, you are handling yourself so well in the public eye - you may not feel confident, but you look and sound confident, and you should feel very good about the good things you are doing. You are making such a positive impact on so many lives, and the same positive impact on so many attitudes (including our own!) about moms - thank you!
We admire and appreciate you! Thank you for being our friend!
Have a good year of rest and “quiet” work!
I know your boys will be glad to have their Mom home. We’ll be glad to hear from you again whenever you are ready!

Dear Stephenie,
Thank You.
It’s hard to express the impact that you have had on my life. As a result of your willingness to share your dream with the world, my life has been forever changed in ways I could have never imagined. My teenage sons and I now listen to the same radio station- something that never would have happened without your influence! I’ve met amazing people, attended events I would have never thought about attending before, gained new computer skills to feed my addiction for all things Twilight, and rediscovered parts of myself that I thought were gone forever. For that alone, I’ll be forever grateful.
Your books and beloved characters have touched me in a way that I can’t begin to explain. They have become a part of my life to be revisited, loved, and cherished. Breaking Dawn is no exception. My 19 year-old son and I stayed up all night to read Breaking Dawn (it’s not just moms and daughters who bond over these books!). I’ve read it twice now, and I’m finding that I’m loving it more and more. It’s a lot like New Moon, in that you need to read it twice to appreciate it’s wonderfulness! I’m missing the Cullens already- the only thing keeping me from a deep, dark depression is knowing that there’s still Midnight Sun to look forward to.
So, once again, thank you.
Never doubt for a moment that this is what you were meant to do. You’re amazing, and I eagerly await whatever you will share with us next.
With profound gratitude,
Dani

Stephenie,
Just remember that your true fans are behind you 110%. The worlds you create are beautiful. I have never been so enthralled with a book series until I read yours. Keep on writing and your ture fans will keep reading! You go girl!
August 10th, 2008 at 3:16 pm
Stephenie,
Thank you for making Bella so strong in Breaking Dawn. I think the reason that some younger folks didn’t like Breaking Dawn as much was because Bella grew up. Her character didn’t remain flat, nor did those of Edward or Jacob. They grew into their roles as circumstances changed, and they did so beautifully. As a mom, a wife, and a middle school teacher, I thank you for allowing Bella to shine. Thanks also for writing about the passion that continued to burn between Edward and Bella. Just because you’re married with a family, doesn’t mean you sleep all night:)
Keep Writing!

Steph,
I too just want to Thank You for this wonderful love story. Stephenie,
Thank you for writing such fun, thrilling, purely enjoyable stories. Your poise in light of such a “passionate” audience is inspirational. Thank you for writing YOUR story; goodness knows you can’t satisfy everyone but readers like myself appreciate that you were writing from your own imagination & heart. I have recommended Twilight to several of my friends and they all rave about the series and thoroughly enjoyed Breaking Dawn, so I’m not exactly sure where all of the negativity is coming from because I certainly haven’t heard any bad comments outside the “internet world.”
Saying goodbye to Bella and Edward’s story was hard, but I am so pleased that they got their happy ending. I hope we will hear more from Jacob in the future!
Can’t wait to see what else you will write in the future!
Best wishes!
A.J.G.

Stephanie-
I loved Breaking Dawn! Thank you for letting the rest of us fall in love with your characters. I related to so many things in this book. As a mother of three I understood Bella and her decisions. I loved Nessie- let all those who hate the name write their own best seller and they can decide what to name their baby. Thank you for being such an example. You were able to show me that I could pursue my own interests and hobbies and still be a great mother. Thank you for reminding me how much I love to read. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
Please, take whatever break you need and then keep your stories coming. We love them!
Always,
Hilary

Stephenie:
Thank you. Thank you for sharing Edward and Bella with us. If you had decided to keep them for yourself we wouldn’t have been blessed with their universe. I can’t imagine how hard it was for you to let them go and not keep them hidden and safe with you. Please know that your sacrifice has touched some of us in ways you’ll never know.
Much love and blessings to you and your family always,

Stephenie, from the moment I picked up Twilight, I knew that it was going to be special. It more than lived up to my expectations; it changed my entire outlook on life. The remaining books have continued to be life-changing events, but I was seriously rocked to my core by Breaking Dawn. It was…fabulous!
Thank you for showing that true love conquers all. Thank you for showing that the ugly duckling does not just turn into a swan, she turns into a queen. Thank you for giving hope to those who may be shy or consider themselves unimportant by showing that everyone has greatness inside them.
Most importantly, thank you for sharing your world with us. The entire Twilight series, but especially Breaking Dawn, made me feel alive and joyous and I have been literally floating since I finished it. It is one of the few books where the ending did not leave me saddened or disheartened or disappointed. It was perfect.
You deserve not only a month on Isle Esme, but we should find your own island for Isle Stephenie! I eagerly anticipate anything else you may publish, no matter how long it takes. Thank you for changing my life!
Sincerely,
Michelle

What can I possibly say that hasn’t already been said? Stephenie, thank you for the last 8 months! You have given me a sense of renewal. You have given back to me hundreds of emotions that I thought had been long buried during the past 20 years of just making it through the mundane things in life. I had forgotten how good it felt to feel young and full of hope. I think that I am a better, happier woman since Twilight came into my life. And until the next great adventure, I remain a devoted and loyal fan…….
love & kisses-

Stephenie,
And, third, because I, too, have seen the Twilight dream play over and over again in my mind. And I have LOVED every minute of it!
Although I don’t know you, I feel a kindred connection to you. First becauase I hail from Arizona. Second because I also graduated from BYU and was there the same time you were!
THANK YOU for sharing your stories with us. They are truly one of a kind and amazing. Your characters are nothing but extraoridinary, and I have felt every emotion they have felt, cried, when they have cried, and loved more deeply than I ever thought possible. I love each book in it’s own way and have learned valuable life lessons from each one of your characters.
What I wouldn’t do to be able to meet you and say thank you in person. Your books have literally “changed” my world. Please continue to inspire us with your stories and characters.
I, too, remain a devoted and loyal fan….forever.
Only the best to you!!
August 10th, 2008 at 6:44 pm
Stephenie, I have been trying to find a way to tell you “thank you” just like all of the millions of fans you have. I was so worried that you would read the negative stuff and not know how much millions of us love you. Thanks TM for letting us send our gratitude to Stephenie. I have always loved to read but I cannot stop reading these books. I have read BD twice and now I’m listening to it on CD when I drive to work everyday. I have a family member with dyslexia and so we listen to books on tape. On your my space page, there is a girl that says she has dyslexia and your books have made her want to read. That is amazing! I will be anxiously waiting for “Midnight Sun” or anything you write. I love all of your books and of course you surprised us all in BD. That’s why we love you. Thanks so much. You are awesome!
August 10th, 2008 at 6:58 pm
Hi Stephenie!,
What can I say to a woman who has literally changed my life? I know that you have heard this a million times but I wanted to also let you know that you have brought a wonderful presence to my life and I can’t thank you enough.
Ok, here’s where I sound like a commercial:After reading The Twilight saga I have courage to do things that I swore I would never do. You see, I vowed, 20 years ago to never step foot on another airplane. And I mean NEVER. Now, I’ll be one of those exciting Moms headed to Forks. I’ll be on a plane for five hours and traveling on September 11 at that. So thank you, Stephenie, for courage, for hope, and for love. I will never forget you!
Best Wishes,
-Teri

“When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hold on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn.” – Harriet Beecher Stowe
I know there have been ugly, hateful things said, but don’t believe a word of them. You are a Rock Star! Thank you so much for creating such wonderful characters and being such a mesmerizing storyteller. Your books have touched me deeply. I have loved every single one of them. They have made such a difference in my life and brought me much joy.

Ms. Meyer:
Thanks for the literary ride of a lifetime. You have created fiction for its true purpose–escapism. You truly have a fresh voice, and I thoroughly enjoy your work. The fact that we can find elements to discuss and analyze only adds to the enjoyment. I look forward to future adventures with your words.

Hi Steph,
I wanted to write to you to share our story and to tell you how much I love your stories and hope that you never let a vocal minority influence you one tiny bit.
First, I want to tell you how I ‘found’ Twilight. I had it for about 2 months before I cracked the spine. My 17 year old SON had read it and was insisting I read it. He had loved the book so much he immediately bought NM and EC even though he had to look in about 4 stores before he found NM in stock (this was Feb/March this year.) He even packed NM and EC into his suitcase for a 3 week trip to the Middle East. We kept trying to take them out and he kept putting them back in (to heck with weight restrictions) and we knew he’d already read them!
After he got back, everytime he saw me, he’d ask “Mom, did you read Twilight yet?” So I cracked, I mean, vampires?? Well about May 2 I picked it up and the rest is history. About 3/4 of the way through it I called him and demanded he bring the other two over immedieately. By the 6th I was done. On the 8th I found TwilightMoms. I’ve lost count how many times I’ve read them now. (Menopause=memory loss)
I have never ever read a book and immediately felt the need to start over. Mind you, I love books and I keep my favorites and reread them every so often, but never…ever…back to back. I think someone in the forums said she thought the ink was laced with crack or heroin (LOL) but it might explain things.
Now, Breaking Dawn. My brilliant son read it in 7 hours and came into my room and announced “The Best Book Ever Written!” I was just finishing Book 2 and sat up and shouted “Brilliant!” (as if I was British or something!)
We here in Albuquerque (practically your neighbor) think you are a GENIUS!
Of course, we immediately reread them and I can honestly say I loved it even more!
If you ever come to Albuquerqu for a signing I would be honored to act as your personal slave and tour guide. You have but to ask and we’ll show you a great time!
Thank you Stephenie, I will always be grateful for your stories and you have two loyal readers forever.
August 10th, 2008 at 7:31 pm
I don’t think I could add much more… Thanks Stephenie for letting me step into your dream, and completely enjoy it. Thanks for giving me, away to connect to my daughter and interest her in reading.
August 10th, 2008 at 7:36 pm
I never post to these things, but I read everything. If Stephenie happens to read this I just want to say thank you. I really enjoy your books. It has given me and my teenage daughter something to talk about that we can agree on.
I said it in a card that I gave to Stephenie at a signing and I will say it again. Your success as a Mom and an author give me inspiration to continue my small business. It is hard juggling kids and a job.
Thank you for the entertainment and the inspiration. And PLEASE keep writing books!
August 10th, 2008 at 8:17 pm
I am so thrilled that there are others out there who are as deeply bothered by all of the negativity over the past week and that we have a place to express our love for these characters and their saga.
Thank you Stephenie for sharing your tale with us…for it is your tale and we are merely visitors to your world. I found the series after reading the EW article a couple of weeks ago…and devoured the first book in 2 days. Like others here I headed right out and picked up the next two (& pre-ordered BD) the day I finished Twilight. These books are a wonderful read, and frankly it was refreshing to have a happy ending for these characters. For a lot of novels and series that I’ve read lately gloom and doom endings seem to be more common than one where things come to a positive resolution and the characters get their “happily ever after.” Thank you for giving us Bella & Edward’s happily ever after.
Also, to address some of the criticisms of BD, I personally think that it takes a great deal more bravery and character to choose NOT to fight and to resolve things peaceably. So, the ending to the Volturi conflict was not only a satisfying one but the mature one I would expect from the Cullens. They didn’t back down, but found a way to resolve things using their heads and “hearts” rather than fists and rage. Then there are those who have issues with Bella’s choices…they need to realize that they are exactly that HER choices and her’s alone. She is the one who is in control and does what she feels is right for her. Again, I think it takes a great deal more maturity and strength for a person to act against what their peers are telling them and to stay the course for what they know to be right for them. Here Bella shows us that she is a strong, and mature woman for sticking with her convictions.
I’m looking very forward to seeing Midnight Sun in the future after reading the 1st chapter online, and will be buying The Host this week. There are plenty of us out here who will keep reading as long as you keep sharing your wonderful stories with us.
Again, a whole hearted thank you and please know that there are those of us out here who are extremely bothered by the negative and caustic comments about BD and in reaction have actively sought out a place to voice our love of this series.
Best regards
-Erin

Stephenie-
Once again, I just want to express my gratitude for the gift that is the Twilight saga. It is amazing that this story has breathed new life into my nice, predictable middle-aged routine. Since falling in love with the series about a year ago, I have tried new things, looked at my relationships in new ways, and remembered what it is like to be young, passionate, and free of the worries of a mortgage and electric bill. Your stories, including The Host, have prompted me to give myself permission to do things for my own enjoyment again; they have reminded me to recharge my own batteries so that I can be more effective in taking care of the people I love.
Stephenie, I’ve said before that I think we would be great friends. I already think of you that way, even though we have only met face-to-face once for a few seconds. (You should know that I will always think of you when the tulips bloom in KC!)
When the negativity flares up, do what you know is right: don’t listen. Do things your own way, and continue to write for yourself. Who you are, who your characters are, and the enjoyment of a good story is exactly why you have such a dedicated, enthusiastic fandom. I know I am part of a large group who will always be a part of the Twilight universe- because we just can’t stay away.
August 10th, 2008 at 8:39 pm
Stephenie,
My daughters(including the little red head) and I were about the 1995th people in line at the NYC Breaking Dawn Concert Series autograph line. We absolutely love Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn. We really enjoyed Breaking Dawn and don’t understand the negativity some people are showing towards this conclusion to Bella and Edward’s story. You did an amazing job with the entire series, and I am especially happy with the very last scene in Breaking Dawn . It was perfect. Thank you for creating such wonderful characters. My life has not been the same since I discovered them. I have never been affected by fictional characters like this before. Thank you for reminding me of how it feels to be young and in love. The Host is also a wonderfully imaginative story, and I look forward to your future projects…I’ll be counting the days until Midnight Sun! Thanks again for sharing your dream with us.
August 10th, 2008 at 8:48 pm
Thank you for concluding the series in an exciting and thoroughly enjoyable manner. I can’t wait to see what you come up with next. Enjoy a well rested break and I am excited to read Midnight sun. I hope you consider writing more with the Twilight Characters in the future, and hopefully the Host too! I can’t say which book I would like to see more of; the Host or Twilight. Either way thank you and Bless you and your family.
August 10th, 2008 at 8:50 pm
Stephenie, thank you for Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn, and The Host. I look forward to reading other wonderful books by you in the future. Congratulations on all your success!
August 10th, 2008 at 9:10 pm
Steph,
I first read Twilight during a critical time in my life. My little brother had just entered rehab for a long-term drug addiction, and we found out our oldest son had autism. In Twilight I found the escape I desperatly needed! I’m an avid reader and have been passionate about certain books before, but nothing has taken me away as completely as Twilight. I’ve even started writing some things for fun on my own, realizing I don’t have to wait for my kids to be in school or to be retired to do things I’ve always wanted to do. It has been such an outlet for me! I call TwilightMOMS and Twilight my straight jacket because they keep me sane! Seriously!
I felt like I was in a rut with my life, at only 26 years old, and I’ve been able to find myself again! I just LOVE LOVE LOVE everything about these books and the Twilight community.
Oh, and I’m TEAM STEPHENIE all the way!!! (And I LOVED BD!! I told you that in Chicago! In the Alice costume, remember me?)
So poo poo on the naysayers. I almost feel sorry for them because they’ll never be able to get the joy that I’ve gotten from Twilight! Hmmm, I’m hungry for some eggs. . .
Amy
August 10th, 2008 at 9:27 pm
Stephenie - Don’t let the naysayers get you down!
Breaking Dawn was amazing, as are the rest of your books! Thank you so much for writing down your dream for all of us to share!
August 10th, 2008 at 9:32 pm
I too have come to love the Tilight series and your well developed characters. I have grown to love and care about each one. I do not think you could have written “Breaking Dawn” anymore to my liking. You went just far enough with the intimate parts of Bella and Edward’s relationship and left the door open for each of us to make the experience our own. I was thrilled with the excitment of a baby brought into Edward and Bella’s lives. “Nessie” completes this fantastic love story. You did an exceptional job bringing out the true feelings and dedication of most mothers and families…’more than my own life’. I could not agree more. It makes all of the scary, screaming, crying, rollercoaster ride (of this book)all the more worth it. I love the “classic” feeling that the Twilight series has. Thank you for taking the time away from the most precious and important things in this world, to bring joy, happiness and SANITY into mine. (a passionate mother of six)
August 10th, 2008 at 9:45 pm
Stephanie,
Thank you so very much for sharing these wonderful stories with us. I can only imagine how difficult it would be to give something so very personal to the world to be put under scrutiny. No one wants to have their children criticized and that is how I see it must be for you.
I have had the great opportunity to get to know your books while my husband is away serving in Iraq. As this has been a VERY difficult time for my family and I, it has been a pleasure to escape for a few minutes a day into a fun story. It has also been enjoyable reading something that is in my opinion “safe”.
Again I appreciate the avenue you have given me personally to be distracted from the loneliness of missing my best friend and companion. Thank you and I can’t wait to read more from you.
August 10th, 2008 at 11:03 pm
Stephenie, through your stories and all the TwilightMoms friends I have made, you enrich my life immeasurably. Thank you for daring to bring a dream to life, and for The Host, and most especially for sharing Edward Cullen. I’ll always adore you for that. I’ve met you more than once so I can safely say, “Stephenie Meyer: wonderfully warm AND awesomely cool!” You’re pure *magic*.
August 11th, 2008 at 12:13 am
Stephenie,
I was late to catch on to your Wonderful World not picking up Twilight until June 08. My daughter, Niece, Sister-N-Law and Mother-N-Law had all read Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and The Host long before, and had tried to get me to read the books. It wasn’t until I found out my Sister had read them that I stole my daughter’s copies and quickly fell in love with everything! Not being much of a reader I just hadn’t been interested in picking up a book that thick and now I have read all Five of your books and personally own them. I just want to say thank you for taking a chance on the world of writing!! I truly Love all your books and Breaking Dawn (of course I would love more)is the perfect ending! Enjoy your Break from deadlines and let you imagination sore!!!

Dear Stephenie - Thank you for an amazing vampire saga. I thoroughly enjoyed all four books and I just love how “Breaking Dawn” answered all my questions. I feel satisfied and sad at the same time. Satisfied - that everything I wanted for Bella and Edward came true. Sad - because it’s over and I’m not ready to part with the characters. “Parting is such sweet sorrow.” Thank you again for sharing your “dream.” Congratulations on your success and I wish you great good luck in the future. P.S. Hurry up with “Midnight Sun.” Thanks!

Stephenie
Thank you for sharing your wonderful stories with us.
Please get a good break and I’m looking forward to more stories from the Twilight Saga. Including probably one from Jacob’s and Reneesme’s POV?
Take care

Stephenie, thank you for creative the wonderful Twilight world for us to live in, even if for only a while. I really loved Breaking Dawn and I must say that the book is the logical and rightful conclusion to the saga, and it really all comes together beautifully. It’s the critic’s fault that they just don’t get it! Renesme (a wonderfully original name by the way), Jacob’s imprinting, the wedding, the checkmating of Jane and Alec, the mind-blowing ending where Bella gives Edward her ultimate gift; it all makes absolute sense and no other ending to the saga could have been better than this! Thank you for turning my 11 year-old daughter into the voracious reader that she is today! Most of all, I really hope that you continue with the saga as the waters you have created run broad and deep. The best gift that you can give us is to tell us that you will never abandon the Cullens!
August 11th, 2008 at 5:19 am
Stephenie, thank you for sharing your wonderful world of Twilight with us. You re-ignited a flame within me that I thought had long been extinguished. You brought back the wonderful memories of my youth for me when you introduced us to Bella and Edward and I adore you for that. Meeting you in NY was a “dream” for me and one that I will cherish forever.
August 11th, 2008 at 6:00 am
For every woman out there who has had a dream and wanted to reach for it, you are an inspiration to us all!
Thank you for sharing your dream with us!

Stephenie,
What can I say but thank you for giving us these wonderful characters, especially Edward and Alice. I have enjoyed every moment I have spent reading and re-reading these wonderful books. I loved Breaking Dawn and know that I will be re-reading all the books many times over. I can’t wait for Midnight Sun to come out and hopefully more Twilight books from other characters perspectives, but just please make sure that Edward and Bella are still always there. Also I was so pleased to have met you at the NY book signing. You were so kind and generous to everyone. It is such a pleasure to finally meet someone and know that they are just as nice and kind as you thought they were. Thank you again for bringing us all together.

Stephenie,
No other book has made me think or affected me the way your Twilight Saga has. Thank you so much for what you do and for helping me to believe in “true love.” You’re the best!

Stephenie, thank you so much for your wonderful books. I have enjoyed reading them very much and my 16 year old *son* has read (and enjoyed) all four books as well. You definitely deserve a vacation on Isle Esme :o) Thank you for your wonderful characters, I love the Cullen family immensely.

Stephanie,
I have just finished BD for the second time. Thank you so much! It was a wonderful book from beginning to end. I loved the more adult perspective and the happy ending. Thank you for sharing this world with all of us and for inspiring us the way you do. You are extremely talented and I am just grateful you took the time to share your talents, and Edward and Bella, with all of us. You made a difference in the lives of countless people and helped me reshape my own. Admitting how much I need my husband has brought such happiness to my family. We are moving next week back to California where my husband has been commuting from. He bought me a cottage, now I just need some roses and freesia.
